    Μνημοσύνης καὶ Ζηνὸς Ὀλυμπίου ἀγλαὰ τέκνα,
         Μοῦσαι Πιερίδες, κλῦτέ μοι εὐχομένωι·
    ὄλβον μοι πρὸς θεῶν μακάρων δότε, καὶ πρὸς ἁπάντων
         ἀνθρώπων αἰεὶ δόξαν ἔχειν ἀγαθήν· 
    εἶναι δὲ γλυκὺν ὧδε φίλοις, ἐχθροῖσι δὲ πικρόν,     
         τοῖσι μὲν αἰδοῖον, τοῖσι δὲ δεινὸν ἰδεῖν.
